Yesterday, Texans lost 9 people to guns. 2 of the victims were in their place of worship, honoring their God. We are so inoculated to gun violence in this country that, since this did not reach the threshold of 4 victims to qualify as a mass shooting, the story to come out is how by allowing guns in churches, the wannabe mass shooter was thwarted by the good guys with guns.
Cue the thoughts and prayers. That narrative overlooks the big picture and does nothing to prevent the next 40,000 gun deaths in the New Year…
